There are some things happening now that are more important to us than what is showing up on MSNBC and they make me more able to work with what is showing up on MSNBC. Very important is Susan's dealing with an aspect of her humanness and vulnerability with her knee surgeries. Also very important to me is our ability to be of help as Nancy is accompanying Susan thru a few weeks of her trial. This is a more profound aspect of humanness and family than I have found in my birth family and I am very happy to find that it is within the scope of family as I am finding it expressed with Nancy. Nancy says this caring is consistent with her experience of family and I am grateful to be connected with it thru you, Nancy.
My sense is that the love that you sisters are experiencing now is as precious as that which one might find in ways more conventionally associated with Valentine's Day and I respect it and am glad to be close to it.
Happy Valentine's Day, Nancy and Susan.
"A thought transfixed me: for the first time in my life I saw the truth as it is set into song by so many poets, proclaimed as the final wisdom by so many thinkers. The truth that love is the ultimate and the highest goal to which Man can aspire. Then I grasped the meaning of the greatest secret that human poetry and human thought and belief have to impart: The salvation of Man is through love and in love."
~Viktor Frankl "Man's Search for Meaning" on his revelation as a prisoner of a Nazi concentration camp.
